How to post a WhatsApp group into a Telegram channel (automatically)

You run a WhatsApp group where deals, news or announcements get posted, and you want the same content to reach a Telegram audience as a clean channel feed. wa2tg does this for you: our number sits in the WhatsApp group and our bot, as an admin of your Telegram channel, publishes every message there — photos, videos, documents and text — one way, live.

Set it up (about 2 minutes)

  1. Log in at wa2tg.app/start, pick Channels → WhatsApp group → Telegram channel and name the bridge.
  2. Pick a plan (channel bridges are paid: Pro $20 or Business $50, no message limit).
  3. In Telegram, make our bot @wa2tg_app_bot an admin of your channel (it only needs “Post messages”) and post the short code there once.
  4. In WhatsApp, add our number +61468332437 to the group and paste the same code. Done — from now on the group feeds the channel.

Who can post?

Anyone who posts in the WhatsApp group. Posts appear in the channel from the channel itself (channels have no per-user sender), with the WhatsApp sender’s name as a label if you want it (/identification).

Is it one-way?

Yes. A Telegram channel is a broadcast, so comments in the channel do not go back to WhatsApp. If you want a two-way link, use a group ↔ group bridge instead.

Can I do the opposite — Telegram channel → WhatsApp?

Yes: Telegram channel → WhatsApp group, or a full clone into a WhatsApp Channel.

Known limits

Polls, reactions and edits are not carried over; media is limited to about 20 MB per message; very long WhatsApp captions are trimmed to Telegram’s caption limit.

FAQ

Do I have to make the bot admin?

Yes — Telegram only lets admins post in a channel. “Post messages” is the only permission it needs; you can remove it any time and the bridge stops.

Does my WhatsApp group see anything different?

Only that our number joined. Nothing is posted back into the group.

Can one WhatsApp group feed several channels?

Yes — create one bridge per channel (Pro includes 3 bridges, Business 20).

Is there a free trial for channels?

No. Channel bridges are paid from day one (Pro $20/month or Business $50/month). Group ↔ group bridges have a free plan.
